A foodies guide to ☮ Festival Eats ☮

Nothing says ‘Great British Summer’ like a music festival. Hunter wellies, camping, the very real chance of rain. But now, festivals have become a place to try new foods and eat like a king, (or at least a rockstar).

This weekend the @ldn_eats crew set off down to Lewes, East Sussex for exactly that. Brainchild Festival, winners of the AIM Award for Best Independent Festival 2015 has everything. Music, theatre, art, poetry, film, food, drink….

The smoothie bowl we tasted, by Peace Bowls (a great little London-based start up) was exactly what we needed to blow away the cobwebs from the night before. Mixed berries with home made granola, crusted dark chocolate, bananas and kiwi really was full of delicious nutrients and put a smile on our faces.

Another family favourite was the avacado on toast (classic) with a smidge of olive oil and smoked paprika.

We also tried Dough Brothers wood-fire oven mozzarella, chorizo and red pepper which was cooked in record times and really hit the spot, giving that well needed energy to keep dancing. Thanks guys!

Lastly, it’s safe to say that frozen margaritas and strawberry daiquiri slushies are our new favourite cocktails!
