Mother’s Day is one of those days where you want to get it right. The card, the present, the restaurant… All these things need to show your gratituity to someone who deserves it the most.
The Modern Pantry in Clerkenwell is one of those places that everyone talks about, and when Mother’s Day came around we knew this would be the perfect place to treat our mum and say thanks for all she’s done for us.
Hidden away in St. John’s Square, the restaurant itself is small and intimate, adding to the feel of being looked after.
Whilst some of our party went for the breakfast special set menu (including the chia seed bowl), I went for the tumeric and coconut waffle, rhubarb lemongrass compote with ground pistachios and I definitely wasn’t disappointed about my decision.
Price was reasonable, averaging about £20 per head (excluding wine). The service was warm and welcoming. As it was Mother’s Day, our mum was offered a complimentary drink. She doesn’t drink alcohol so they made a virgin bellini for her – the little touches to make her day special were appreciated 🙂
We would recommend this as one of our favourite brunch spots in London for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It’s also a great place to treat a special someone and say thank you.
